THE WORK
The North by Northwest collection holds space for stillness. Through restrained colour, atmosphere and horizon, Laura Gilman’s landscapes slow attention rather than direct it. Rooted in the quiet horizons of Northern England, these works demand a deliberate pause — moments captured in late 2020, when the world was silent, where land, weather and light settle into balance. Presented pseudonymously, the work is encountered without biographical framing. This removes the distraction of authorship and allows attention to rest fully on the image itself — its structure, surface, and internal logic. What remains is a direct engagement with the work, unmediated by reputation or persona.
The EDITION
